Hunting the Unknown
A downloadable game for Windows
Project in early stage, please comment for bugs!
You wake up with no memory, inside a huge walled estate that nature has taken back. The mansion is empty. The gardens are forest. Somewhere past the wall, something big is walking.
What you'll find
- A real planet. The world beyond the walls is a seeded, round planet: plains, forests, lakes, rivers and mountains to the horizon. Every new story is a new estate and a new world.
- Hunting that's about patience. Stalk, crouch, read the wind and the ground. Animals graze, flee, fight back and live in a small sun-powered ecosystem, with herds that grow and shrink.
- Dinosaurs. Raptors, hadrosaurs, triceratops, a six-metre T-rex and herds of brachiosaurs a hundred metres tall, walking past colossal trees.
- Survive and settle. Craft tools, bows and torches, build shelters, fences and storage, keep cows and pigs, cook, drink, swim, dig.
- Pip. Your squirrel guide follows you on the ground, points the way when you ask (T), and brings your things back if you fall.
- Weather and nights that matter. Rain, storms, fog, moon phases, and nights that get darker and louder as the fifth one gets closer.
- Co-op. Play the whole act with friends (up to 8), or alone.
- Zen Hunt. No quests, no crafting, no survival bars: just you, a hunting stand and the prey, in silence.
This is Act 1
This release is the full first act of the story, from waking up on the estate to what you find beyond the broken gate. If people enjoy it, Act 2 comes as a big free update to the same game, and your feedback decides what gets fixed and built first.

Co-op
One player picks **Host Co-op** in the main menu. Friends pick **Join Co-op** and type the host's IP address.
The game uses **UDP port 24680**. On the same home network that's all you need. Over the internet, the host
has to forward that port on their router, or you can all join a virtual LAN (ZeroTier, Radmin VPN, Hamachi).
System requirements
- Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit
- A GPU with Vulkan support (GTX 1060 / RX 580 or better recommended)
- 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended)
- About 500 MB of disk space, but of course more for saves and stuff.
